These AI Transparency & Responsible Use Terms (“AI Terms”) govern the use of artificial intelligence features within the ILUMINA platform.

By submitting an application as a Founder, or by using the Platform as a Customer, you acknowledge and agree to these AI Terms.

1. Purpose

ILUMINA provides AI-assisted analytical tools to support:

Startup submission structuring
Automated summaries and memos
Scoring and ranking indicators
Evaluation workflows for Investors and Program Partners

AI features are provided solely to improve efficiency and consistency in review processes.

2. Role of AI in the Platform

Users acknowledge that ILUMINA uses automated systems, including third-party AI models, to generate:

Scores
Rankings
Summaries
Analytical indicators

These outputs are generated based on:

Founder-submitted data
Customer-configured criteria
Statistical and algorithmic processing

3. Non-Binding Outputs – No Guarantee

All AI-generated outputs are:

Informational only
Non-binding
Probabilistic
Dependent on input quality

ILUMINA makes no guarantee regarding:

Accuracy
Completeness
Funding outcomes
Selection decisions
Review timelines

4. No Investment Advice / No Automated Decisions

ILUMINA does not provide:

Investment advice
Financial advice
Due diligence conclusions

AI outputs do not constitute:

A recommendation to invest
A rejection decision
A legally binding assessment

All decisions remain solely with the relevant Customer and its human representatives.

ILUMINA does not make fully automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects under GDPR Article 22.

5. Founder Acknowledgements

Founders acknowledge that:

AI scoring does not determine whether funding will occur
Investors may interpret outputs differently
Submission does not guarantee review or response
Founders remain responsible for accuracy of submitted information

6. Customer Acknowledgements

Customers acknowledge that:

AI outputs are decision-support tools only
Independent diligence is required
Customer remains fully responsible for all funding and selection decisions
Customer shall not rely solely on AI outputs

ILUMINA is not liable for investment losses or missed opportunities.

7. Human Oversight Requirement

All AI outputs are intended to be reviewed by humans.

Customers agree to apply appropriate human judgment and not treat AI scoring as determinative.

8. Bias and Fairness Limitations

Users acknowledge that AI systems may produce:

Unexpected results
Inaccuracies
Biases inherent in automated processing

ILUMINA undertakes reasonable monitoring and improvement efforts, but does not warrant that outputs are bias-free.

9. Model Improvement

Users agree that ILUMINA may use anonymized, aggregated, and de-identified data to:

Improve scoring accuracy
Enhance platform performance
Develop benchmarking insights

No identifiable founder or Customer proprietary data is disclosed across Customers.

10. Third-Party AI Providers

ILUMINA may use third-party AI service providers (including OpenAI).

Processing occurs subject to:

GDPR safeguards
Contractual protections
Subprocessor obligations

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

ILUMINA shall not be liable for any damages arising from:

Use of AI outputs
Reliance on scoring results
Funding or selection outcomes
Errors or omissions in automated summaries

12. Updates

ILUMINA may update these AI Terms periodically.

Continued use constitutes acceptance.
